Bearing Set Screws The high torque starts of the rollers can cause the set screws on the roller drive shafts to loosen. This allows the shaft to spin inside the bearing race causing considerable damage and even complete failure of the drive shaft. Checking the set screws on a regular basis, when the belts are replaced for instance, can help reduce downtime and expensive shaft repair or replacement.
Dodge Grip Tight Bearing Dodge has recently introduced a bearing that uses a tapered sleeve to grip the shaft instead of set screws. It operates similar to a taper lock sprocket and provides a much more stable grip on the shaft than just the normal 2 set screw arrangement. If you are experiencing a problem with your set screws it may be worth while to look into replacing the bearing with a Grip Tight. The part number would be P2B-GT-100. I have also uploaded a brochure for the Grip Tight that you can view and download. Just click on the following link to view. Grip Tight Brochure.
Air Solenoid Rebuild Kit There is a rebuild kit available for the Numatics solenoid valve that operates the air cylinders on the machines. If you go to the Misc Parts page on this website you can down load a list of numbers which includes the Rebuild Kit as well as numbers for the solenoid valve itself. On the Numatics website you can search for a distributor in your area. The valves take 7 to 10 days but the kits are available much quicker. If you are not using the mat catching device you can also use that valve as a replacement as well.
